HEALTH, EFFICIENCY, HUMANITY
"Architecture serving people" is not a fashionable slogan but an eternal fundamental explored by architects. On the developmental path of architectural theory and creative practice, deviation from and return to the fundamentals have persistently struggled as two conflicting forces. Humanity draws wisdom and experience from trial and error. History will ultimately prove that "returning to fundamental design" is a shared value orientation among architects and the basic supporting the core values of architecture.
"Fundamental design" does not define the architect's conceptual space through narrow technical dimensions but rather adopts an open attitude to explore, at all levels and across all fields, the fundamental issue of "architecture serving people" and the pursuit of "comprehensive humanistic care" in architecture.

COMPREHENSIVE THINKING, INTEGRATED PROCESS, COLLABORATIVE DISCIPLINES
Through over 30 years of creative practice, Academician Meng Jianmin has concluded that achieving excellent design requires three levels of thoroughness: completeness, thoughtfulness, and meticulousness.Completeness means that all factors in architectural design must be comprehensively considered without omission.Thoughtfulness means that based on comprehensive consideration, there must be concrete implementation and execution.Meticulousness means that in the process of achieving completeness and thoughtfulness, attention must be paid to details—being comprehensive and detailed, as details determine success or failure. In light of this, Academician Meng has proposed the technical methods and pathways for practicing "fundamental design": comprehensive thinking, integrated process, and collaborative disciplines.
