The Institute of Comprehensive Urban Design (ICUD) Research focuses on critical issues in creating highly resilient and high-density urban environments. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the institute researches new theories, methods, and technologies in urban design based on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and virtual reality. The team comprises members with rich engineering experience, solid theoretical foundations, broad international perspectives, and diverse professional backgrounds. The institute has four main research directions: complex urban design theory, urban computational design methods, urban renewal and revitalization methods, and urban chief designer model system. The studies aim to construct a new paradigm of "integration of industry, academic research, education and application" for future complex urban design.
