Recently, the first batch of pilot evaluation projects under Shenzhen's "Building Industrialization Evaluation Standard" was officially announced, with a total of five projects citywide. The Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Center of Shenzhen People's Hospital Bao'an Hospital was successfully selected and rated as AA-level prefabricated building. This project was designed by the Benyuan Medical Architecture Design & Research Institute of Shenzhen General Institute of Architectural Design and Research (SZGDI), with the prefabricated special design completed by the Prefabricated Building Engineering Research Institute of SZGDI.
The "Building Industrialization Evaluation Standard" was issued and implemented by the Shenzhen Construction Industrialization Association. This standard innovatively adopts an industrialization rate evaluation method, pioneering the "basic items + technical list items" indicator system and the "incremental" scoring method for leading technologies. It takes the lead in defining and evaluating buildings exceeding prefabricated building height regulations, breaks through modular building evaluation methods, integrates building industrialization with intelligent construction, and further improves Shenzhen's technical standard system for high-quality prefabricated building development, receiving widespread attention from the industry.

Shenzhen People's Hospital Bao'an Hospital is located southwest of the intersection of Bao'an Avenue and Haoxiang Road in Shajing Street, Bao'an District, adjacent to Bao'an International Airport and Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. With convenient transportation and a concentration of high-tech industries, the project aims to build a world-class "international, smart, and research-oriented" general hospital. The construction includes fever clinics, an infectious disease prevention and control center, outpatient building, medical technology building, inpatient building, science and education center, administrative center, and other supporting facilities. As a super medical center in the Greater Bay Area, the design is committed to innovating resource organization models and creating a world-class medical flagship with future significance.
The main structure of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Center of Shenzhen People's Hospital Bao'an Hospital adopts steel structure, with embedded MiC (Modular Integrated Construction) modular wards and MiMEP (Module-based Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) prefabricated electromechanical module integrated construction technology. The project utilizes 101 modular wards, achieving an overall prefabrication rate of over 80%, and has been evaluated as AA-level prefabricated building under the "Building Industrialization Evaluation Standard." The project will become China's first permanent embedded MiC modular infectious disease prevention and control ward and also the country's first "modular negative pressure infectious disease prevention and control ward," providing a reference demonstration for the integrated construction approach of "modular electromechanical + modular building."

The main steel frame forms an independent structural system, providing vertical load-bearing and lateral resistance. Factory-prefabricated modular wards are embedded into the steel frame through on-site hoisting. The modular wards are self-supporting, with their weight acting as additional load on the main structure without participating in bearing seismic forces. The modular units only need to meet their own structural stability and hoisting requirements, with simple structural and nodal connections. The connection nodes with the main frame only need to fulfill basic force transmission functions.

The embedded MiC modular wards integrate modular structure, electromechanical systems, and finishes, benchmarking against advanced manufacturing to create highly integrated and industrialized products. Modules are produced and installed using digital equipment in factories, then transported to the site for rapid assembly, significantly shortening construction periods while improving building quality.
